Braised Beef Ribs with Tomatoes


3 tomatoes

2 catty (1.2kg) beef ribs fingers

1/2 onion

few Red Peppers

4 tael (151g) cabbages

few gingers

suitable amount of star aniseeds

suitable amount of bay leaves


2 tbsp Heinz Ketchup

2 tsp Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce

2 tsp Sugar

1/2 tsp Salt

2.4L Water (about 6 bowls)


- Cut tomatoes, onion, red peppers and cabbages into wedges. Cut beef rib fingers into pieces and blanch the beef in boiling water.

- Stir fry the beef, tomatoes, onions, red peppers, cabbages and gingers.

- Add seasonings, star aniseeds and bay leaves and bring to the boil. Turn to low heat and braise for 45 minutes until the beef becomes tender.
